Accessibility

We want the Canterbury City Show to be welcoming for everyone.

Getting around the event

Canterbury City Show takes place across Westgate Gardens, Westgate Square, and Toddler's Cove — all within a short walk of each other in central Canterbury.

Westgate Gardens

The main paths through Westgate Gardens are surfaced and wheelchair-friendly. The gardens have no width-restricting barriers, stiles, or kissing gates. Disabled toilets are available on site.

The gardens include a quieter wooded area. This area has grassy, occasionally bumpy natural ground — visitors with wheelchairs or mobility aids should be aware the surface is less even than the main paths.

Westgate Square

Westgate Square is a paved road surface. The road is closed to traffic during the event (8am to 6pm both days), creating a flat, step-free space for the Sports Zone.

The Guildhall

The Guildhall is wheelchair accessible and has an induction hearing loop. It's located on St Peter's Place, directly adjacent to Westgate Gardens. For specific details about Guildhall facilities, please contact us.

Parking for Blue Badge holders

Blue Badge holders can park free for up to three hours in most Canterbury City Council car parks. If you're visiting Canterbury for the show, you can register your Blue Badge in advance for use in ANPR car parks.

Register your Blue Badge on the Canterbury City Council website
